I drove this on Sunday. Towing a 12’ flatbed trailer is HARD. Im doing it again this coming Sunday. Jake Huitt is teaching me.

That thing has no over-run brakes, is there a brake controller on the truck?

There is a brake controller. The trailer has drums on each wheel

Practice backing up? When I was in college I worked summers for a lawn care company. I regularly drove a Ram 1500 5-speed pulling a 15 foot trailer.

I havent backed up yet, thats Sunday. I just drove around trying to get a spatial understanding of where the trailer is in relation to the truck. I mainly practiced cornering

It all becomes second nature one you’re used to it.
Good tip for backing up is to put your hand on the bottom of the wheel. Then whichever direction you turn the wheel is the direction the trailer will go.

Ya, after about an hour it got pretty easy. Jake was sitting on the tailgate giving me criticisms as I drove. That helped alot. I knew about which direction to turn, but putting my hand on the bottom of the wheel... Thats a good idea, I'll have to try that

It's actually 15 ft and you didn't mention hitting the pole.

Electronic drums. Controller under the dash.

And really not that hard. I’ve never used it when you weren’t there.
